home

maria. trey. everette. beth. beth. kendra. steph. jarrod. matthew. nolan. jeffrey. bobby. yvette. christy. connie. randall. jessica. scott. steph. tsion. salem. hope. journey...our team for the children's home tour this summer was amazing. we're so thankful for their sacrifice, their time, their hearts.

lakeland. palmetto. odum in pembroke. mills...the homes we visited and prayed for and hoped for these two weeks were places of blessing. we could see the hand of God on hearts in these places and were enormously grateful for opportunities to meet the givers who worked there and students who graced each place.

we were home a week ago yesterday and are still living in a surreal reality pondering the ways we saw God work. 1...then 12 more. 8...then another. 4...out of the 10 who attended. then 1 more. 27 hearts that made commitments to Christ in acknowledgment of need and acceptance of Christ's sacrifice and resurrection. soli Deo gloria (glory to God alone). yes...glory to God.

we are...beyond words...excited about going back and back and back and finding ways to minister to orphans. two 9 day-trips already on summer2012 calendar! soli Deo gloria.

to our friends

glorious friend-people...

this blog is intended for the sole purpose of expressing huge love to you. it's not a natural thing to have love pouring out of your being for the peoples of your life. i believe it's quite natural to be selfish.

it's JESUS' love. we are filled up with His love...and overflowing. for some reason, we feel this daily urge to move toward a life of service to the people around us and to people we have never even met before. and it's all because He loves and His love is in us...and outpouring.

so...feel hugged and esteemed and thought-highly-of and held close and whispered to and encouraged because Jesus loves you and His love is overflowing onto this wordy note...FOR YOU.

beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. the one who does not love does not know God, for God is love. by this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. in this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. no one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. by this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son to be the Savior of the world. whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. we have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God...we love, because He first loved us. -first john 4:7-19

pray with us

Father, You are magnificent and worthy of praise. You are glorious, and You make everything glorious. our home and church are committed to You and Your purpose for us. we are small, but You are the Star-breather and You know the number of hairs on each of our heads. You concern Yourself with what we are doing, and as we live and breathe and plan and dream...and as we meet together, let us acknowledge Your faithfulness and Your hand. You are good. there is none like You. in our time and in our spaces, be center. we LOVE You, Jesus, Redeemer, Savior, our LIFE. our Hope. our Peace.

ekklesia place

well...having recently concluded a lengthy summary blog of our church's humble beginnings with the announcement that we will be meeting in a new location and moving from a sort of home-church-planning-status to technically "launching" our new church, um... i sit poised at my computer with anticipation in my heart and creative wording for this blog on the tip of my tongue...but, i feel my heart simply wanting to say:

concerning our new church...there are not bells and whistles as we open this new door/new location... just some acoustic instruments and soft lighting. our hearts' desires are simply to have a place and time for friends (and new friends of friends that will become our friends) to come and spend time in the middle of their busy weeks to be challenged to take a moment to pause and think about a Savior whose love for us is so enormous that it can change the way we think about everything and replace anxiety with peace...and to be about planning organized events to share this love in our community and beyond. that's what our church is about. and why i'm writing this blog. and why we are renovating our barn to accomodate. we will be meeting in "ekklesia place" beginning on wednesdays at 7...(ekklesia place is the reid barn/rec center...if you need directions, please msg me or call!)

from my heart, scott and i sooooo want to help others find the peace that we know... and to find the purpose in life that fills our hearts with hope and find the mission that God has called them to. our chosen phrase to sum up ekklesia is "find peace. purpose. mission." this is in our hearts...and we want to begin this "church" with this simple cause.

please come. if you are reading this, we want you to feel personally invited. we love you because Christ's love is in our being for you. looking forward to tomorrow (our first wednesday meeting in ekklesia place!)
